About Livona Farm
Nestled in Moorooduc, at Victoria's beautiful Mornington Peninsula region, family owned and run Livona Farm offers a unique blend of social and well-being support surrounded by the gentle presence of animals.
Livona Farm offers intimate group or 1:1 sessions that aim to improve emotional well-being, social interaction and physical activity in an enriching, safe and nurturing outdoor environment.
Spending time in nature and in the company of animals can offer numerous therapeutic and emotional benefits.
At Livona Farm, sessions may include activities such as gardening, crafts, grooming animals and caretaking or simply enjoying quiet, restorative moments in their company.
Sessions are led by Leigh Van Der Horst, who brings warmth, experience and a passion for wellbeing.
With a background in nursing and a deep commitment to supporting others, Leigh understands the importance of emotional wellbeing and the power of gentle, meaningful connection.
Today, Leigh channels this passion into her work at Livona Farm, where Leigh supports individuals with their social and emotional needs through therapeutic time in nature, with animals.
In addition the Diploma of Nursing qualification, Leigh is certified in Education Support and has extensive experience supporting students both academically and emotionally in primary and secondary school settings.
Leigh also holds a Certificate in Animal Assisted Learning and a Graduate Certificate in Disability and Inclusion. These qualifications, combined with her hands-on experience, underpin her inclusive, person-centred approach. Leigh also brings a deep understanding of ADHD and Autism, informed by both her professional expertise and personal lived experience.

First Aid & CPR certified (up to date)
Working With Children check (up to date)
Police check (up to date)
Whether it’s sharing quiet moments with animals, engaging in hands-on farm activities, or simply enjoying the space of being outdoors, Leigh’s goal is to create a place where everyone feels seen, valued and uplifted.
